Bust out your menorahs, Hallmark fans!
The Hallmark Channel has taken a lot of flak for its lack of diversity when it comes to its holiday movie lineup -- it's pretty stacked with white people celebrating Christmas, to be honest -- but that's all about to change! According to Forbes, Hallmark is developing two Hanukkah-themed movies for 2019. L'Chaim!
According to officials at Crown Media, Hallmark's parent company, these two movies are still in the early stages of development, but one is currently titled Holiday Date. "[It has] Hannukah elements ... which is a lot of fun as Hanukkah and Christmas overlap in 2019," said a spokeswoman for the company.

Though it's starting out modestly with just two projects, this feels like a natural and long overdue move for the Hallmark Channel. It has long since cornered the market on Christmas movies (literally, we dare you to go check out the 2018 lineup and try to find the four titles without the word 'Christmas' in it), so branching out to other seasonal holidays can only expand the network's demographic, right?
So... Kwanzaa 2020?
