Good, old-fashioned fun planned in downtown Fowler for Halloween.

On Saturday night, Oct. 31, Fowler Chamber of Commerce will host a Fall Festival on Main Street. From 5 to 7 p.m. youngsters can trick or treat at local businesses, play games, compete in a costume contest and tour a haunted theater.

Beginning at 5 p.m., the Fowler High School Drama club will be conducting spooky tours at the Fowler Theater on Main Street. Refreshments will be on sale in the theater lobby. At 5:30 p.m. costume judging will kick off in front of the theater. Five age groups will be competing; infant to age two, 2 to 4 year olds, 4 to 6 year olds, 6 to 8 year olds, and 8 to 10 year olds. Winners in each age group will receive $5 in Chamber Bucks.

All along Main Street local businesses and school clubs will be offering treats, games and activities including a treasure hunt sponsored by First National Bank. The Fowler Museum will be open and families are encouraged to drop in. There will be crossing guards at Main Street and Highway 50 to help make the evening safer for everyone.

Businesses located off Main Street are invited to participate also and encouraged to set up along the sidewalks in the business district.

While out enjoying the Fall festivities, don't forget to enter for a chance to win a Wii Nintendo Game System in time for Christmas. Fowler Chamber of Commerce members are selling candy canes (and/or clothespins) to raise funds for the Chamber Scholarship program. Items are $1 each or six for $5 and the purchaser will be entered in a drawing to win a Wii Nintendo game system. Drawing will be held during Santa's visit Dec. 5.

The entire community is invited to come out and enjoy an evening of festivities and fun.
