Wanted fugitive Jayson Oslund has been arrested in Nebraska.
A Fowler man wanted in connection with a beating death in Pueblo earlier this summer was arrested Wednesday in Norfolk, Neb.
Jayson Oslund, 28, has been on the run since August when he reportedly beat 18-year-old Matt Maez at a party in Pueblo. Days later Maez died at Parkview Hospital as a result of his injuries.
In September, a manhunt for Oslund in the Fowler area was responsible for evacuating a high school football game. On Sept. 11 Fowler Police responding to a tip that Oslund was sited at the family home west of town led to a stake-out of a nearby corn field. Acting on information an armed suspect was hiding in the field, officials evacuated fans and athletes just before kickoff. It was later learned the citing was false and Oslund had not been in the area.
Osland was wanted for First Degree Murder and bond has been set at $1 million. His arrest stems from a Crime Stoppers' tip.
