1. The page banner can be used on open pages or nearly open open pages. With several year-end stories on an open page, using a standard label over headlines can denote topics such as sports, crime or education.

2. The label-size logo can be used as such — a headline label. Adding a label to the right of this logo in your paper’s current label style can denote different topics.

3. The square shape of the 1-column version can be used at the top of a centerpiece and can be used to hold up or brace next to a main headline treatment.

The Quark ad is available in versions 4, 6 and 7. The InDesign ads is available in versions CS, CS2 and CS3. The end of each filename indicates the version (For example, family_ad_ghns_6.qxd is for Quark 6, etc.)

FONTS FOR QUARK & INDESIGN FILES
This link will allow you to download fonts used with this page. Each newspaper should install the fonts on no more than three workstations. We recommend: Two workstations that the pages are produced on and a station where negatives and/or plates are produced.

Once you click on the link, the fonts will land on your desktop. Once there, doubleclick the icon to access the folder. The fonts will be inside the folder. You will need to install these fonts where your current fonts are located.

For most Mac OS 9 platforms, your fonts will be located inside the the Font folder inside the System folder on your hard drive. You will need to quit, then restart all open applications. If you have questions about how to do this, feel free to get in touch with us.

(These are open type fonts, which should work on PC and Mac platforms. For computers running Mac OS 8.6 to 9.x must install ATM 4.6 (adobe type manager) first, which can be downloaded free here.)

If you encounter any technical difficulties with the pages, please e-mail Billy Kulpa at bkulpa@gatehousemedia.com.
