The Fowler office has been working diligently on multiple projects. We have also been keeping our newest add-on, Chaplain Jake Shue, busy. We are thankful for Jake's kind words and generous heart. Jake has been busy keeping the road warm visiting patients near and far while checking on Bereavement clients. Jake has also started a couple of Bereavement Support Groups for both men and women at Faith Baptist Church located at 212 Second Street in Fowler. The Bereavement Support Groups are free and open to anyone who is grieving the loss of a loved one. For CNA Week, Fowler hosted a CNA Appreciation luncheon on Thursday, June 14, in order to let our CNA's Christy Brownrigg and Shay Aragon know how much we appreciate all they do for our patients in the East/Fowler area. Shay and Christy were treated with a nice homemade lunch and presented with gift baskets put together by the Fowler staff. Without our CNAs, Sangre de Cristo Hospice patient care just would not be the same. Fowler Missouri Day is coming around the bend on Saturday, July 13. We are looking forward to this Fowler tradition. Sangre de Cristo Hospice’s Fowler team will be participating in the parade with our CNAs Shay and Christy holding the company parade banner, other staff members and their families will be riding on horseback. Anyone who wants to help support Sangre de Cristo Hospice for the parade contact Joella or Roxie at 719-263-0016. Our volunteers have been busy working on memory bears and keeping up with our volunteer requests. The Fowler staff held an Appreciation Volunteer Breakfast on Wednesday, June 26, 2013. Most of the volunteers attended the breakfast and we were even graced by the presence of Grandma Ruby. Everyone had a great time visiting and the breakfast was enjoyed by all. Due to the drought, Fowler is on a very strict watering schedule and we called Town Hall to get our facility watering schedule, which is only on Mondays from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Rain is greatly needed, so if you drive by and see Roxie, Trish and Joella dancing a jig in the yard, remember it is probably their desperate attempt for rain
