Two people were injured in a motorcycle accident Monday about 30 miles south of La Junta.
A 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle was westbound on Colorado 350 and attempted to pass a motor home, which was also traveling westbound on Colorado 350. As the motorcycle was re-entering its lane it hit a raised portion of the grooved highway and the driver lost control of the motorcycle.
Both the driver and the passenger were ejected from the motorcycle. The 60-year-old female passenger, Sharlene Nunez, from Peoria, Ariz., was wearing a helmet. She was transported to AVRMC with minor injuries. The driver, a 52-year-old male also from Peoria, Ariz., was not wearing a helmet. He was flown by Flight for Life to Parkview hospital in Pueblo with serious injuries.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation however alcohol is not being considered as a factor in the accident.
