A La Junta man is wanted on first degree murder charges and second degree kidnapping.
On Friday, Feb. 14, an Otero District Court issued a warrant for the arrest of Jed Adam Guerrero, who will turn 31 on Feb. 15, of La Junta. He is wanted for first degree murder and second degree kidnapping.
Guerrero is described as 5'9", 210 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. He is considered armed and dangerous and if spotted should not be approached.
He is wanted in connection with the murder of Jonathan Vinson, 21. Vinson's body was discovered by a rancher in an agricultural area near County Road Z and County Road 24 in Otero County on May 11, 2013. Also arrested in the case and in custody at Bent County Jail is Monica Lynnae Martinez, 20. Martinez is charged with first degree murder.
The Otero County Sheriff's office worked in conjunction with CBI to conduct the homicide investigation of Vinson. Details about what led to the murder are not being released at this time due to the ongoing investigation. The warrant in the case has been sealed.
Guerrero's bond is set at $1 million.
