For Valentine's Day Cowboy Up Western Store in Fowler held an essay contest asking customers to tell why they love their jeans. The winner, Taylor Spady, earned a free pair of jeans with the following essay about the jeans she loves and why.
Cruel Girls Will Always Be My Favorite

If you have ever heard the song "Chicken Fry" by the Zach Brown Band, then you must have heard them mention a pair of jeans that fits just right. Every time I pull on my "Georgia" relaxed Cruel Girls, that’s exactly how I feel--relaxed. My cousin, Jacki Sallee, persuaded me to buy a $100 pair of jeans from The Buckle, but they don’t stand a chance to my sturdy Cruel Girls. They are the only jeans that can withstand the dirt, alfalfa, horse hair, and manure from scraping stalls. One of the best parts is they look casual with a t-shirt and formal with a button-up shirt, so they are perfect for any occasion. I rodeo and show livestock all around Colorado so a pair of jeans must be dependable and be able to outlast even the harshest conditions. Off brand jeans can't compare because after hooking them on a barbed wire fence once, you already need a new pair of jeans. I started wearing Cruel Girls when my Grandma Linda bought me a pair for my ninth birthday, and they've been my favorite ever since. When my grandma passed away after her long fight with breast cancer, I wore a black pair of Cruel Girls, a white blouse and my Tough Enough To Wear Pink Montana Silver Smith jewelry. My mom complained that I was under dressed for the funeral, but for some odd reason it just felt right. Why do I love my jeans? Easy, they are the best brand of jeans for what I do, and they give me a daily reminder of the person that meant the most to me.
