Donning fancy red hats and purple attire, several members of the Red Hat Ladies met on Thursday, Jan, 26, at Cottonwood Links Golf Course to celebrate two monumental birthdays for Rachel Barnard, (who could not attend) and Helena Nivens. Rachel just celebrated her 98th birthday and Helena will be 98 years young on March 7.

On Wednesday, Jan. 25, Fowler High School Alumni Kris Jensen McKay and Cari Jensen Smith were inducted into the Colorado High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) 2011 Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony was held at the Red Lion Inn in Denver.

On Friday, Jan. 20, the Fowler Grizzlies got back on the winning track beating the Crowley County Chargers for the second straight time 45-44. The Grizzlies, who at one point were down by double-digits in the second half, recaptured the lead for good late in the fourth quarter. Fowler focused their defense on Crowley sophomore standout Nathan Baylor by using a box-and-one defensive approach.
