Community Vacation Bible School will be held Aug 2 – 6 at West Assembly of God Church from 8:30 to 11:45am.  The theme for this year’s event is “Saddle Ridge Ranch.”

Community VBS has been an annual event for the past 12- 15 yrs according to Pastor Darryl Johnson.  This event is organized by the Ministerial Alliance Church’s, which include the Fowler Christian Church, West Assembly of God, Mary Queen of Heaven, First Baptist, United Methodist Church and Trinity Lutheran Church.

In the past, each church would host the event, but since 2004, when the late Dr. Larry Vibber gave the West School Building to what is now West Assembly of God Church, they have hosted it there.

Children from Pre K to 6th grade are invited to come and participate; there is no cost involved. Kids will participate in different stations that will include; games, crafts, music, a petting zoo and story time. VBS Dir. Todd Wetzel said this will be a “Bible Party, kids are guaranteed to have fun while celebrating and learning about Jesus.”

In recent years there have been as many as 150 children in attendance, with 30-40 helpers.

Each Church takes a turn providing cookies, if anyone is interested in providing cookies, Lacy McCuistion at 250-5049 or Todd Wetzel at 469-2387.

Registration forms are available at Otero True Value Hardware and at any of the participating churches.
