The Missouri Day art show was a popular meeting place for artisans, crafters, alumni, visitors and appreciative spectators. Guest artists Steve Metzner and Loni Conder added their talents to make an outstanding show.

The Fowler City crew turned the old kindergarten room into a great show place and the Art Show Committee and the CFWC Fowler Progress Club conducted a successful viewing. More than five hundred dollars was raised for the fine arts scholarship. This year’s recipient of the scholarship was Georgia Collins.

Donated items for the fund raiser were as follows: Wood sconces by Don Gill won by Gerald Clark; hat and scarf donated by Linette Griffy won by Shari Fox; lilac painting by Ruby Moreland won by Rose Baker; ceramic doll by Kay Robbins won by Sharon Fender; crosstitch donated by Beth Hartless won by Judy Munger; painting donated by Loni Conder won by Judy Wookey; rope basket made by Duane Wright won by Virginia Sharon; photo art donated by Jennifer Walker won by Jim Case; princess doll donated by Chris Nesbit won by Emilie Fox, painting by Nora Pittullo won by Gale Mason; American mint Thunderbird donated by Nora Clifton won by Penny Fletcher.

Adult winners for their art work were first place, Margaret Kane for “The Kiss” watercolor; second place, Cami Manchego for “Secrets” charcoal; third place, Michael Trujillo for “Crimson” watercolor.

The youth of the community made the show special with first place being won by Jessica Rein for “Jayde” graphic; second place by Ashley Clemmenson “Bath Time” oil painting; third place by Jessica Rein “John Deere” graphic. Superior ribbons were issued to Neylan Griffy, Leah Robinson, Reagan Robinson and Levi Grimlund. The committee is looking forward to greater participation for next year.

Henrietta Lucero “Miss Fowler” was responsible for the footprints. Henrietta and Corey Higgs were helpers in the set up and take down of the show.

Wayne Snider completed the difficult job of judging and everyone helped who attended the show. Many exciting changes are planned for next year’s event.
