On Tuesday, Sept. 27, FBLA members from Districts 6, 7 and 8 attended the FBLA Fall Leadership Conference at CSU Pueblo. Your very own Fowler FBLA Chapter brought its officers to the conference: President Jayde Hagerman, Vice President Jacee Manchego, Treasurer Kaitlyn Smith, Secretary Emily Aragon, Historian Morgan Samuels and Freshman Representative Avery Bouldin.
At the conference, guest speakers which included Ashley Brinton, Chris Spradlin and Brad Killmeyer came and gave powerful presentations. Ashley Brinton spoke of her reading disability and how she has worked to overcome adversity. Chris Spradlin motivated the audience by discussing how to be a bold leader and “how to live by what you lead.” Brad Killmeyer expressed how we as people can be more approachable, such as how to meet new people and make new friends. Fowler’s FBLA Chapter has grown in significant numbers from the previous year, nearing over 50 members for the 2016-2017 year. Mark Lowther, chapter adviser, will take his competitors to the District Leadership Conference on Feb. 7, 2017, at Otero Junior College in hopes to see many of our ambitious members represent our community at the state competition in Vail, Colorado, and hopefully further advance to the National Competition in Anaheim, California.
