June 5, 1931 - Oct. 10, 2016

Donald Eugene Bowie, 85, passed away Oct. 10, 2016, in Pueblo. Services were Monday, Oct. 17, at Eaton Family Funeral Home with Stephen Anderson officiating.

Don was born June 5, 1931, to Fred and Edith Bowie in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where he lived and went to school. Don joined the Army in 1948 and served in Germany.

Sept. 21, 1957, he married Norma Jean Fisher in Canon City, where he worked on a farm. In 1963 they moved to Fowler. He worked for several trucking companies until his retirement in 1995.

Don had many interests including golfing, camping, hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He was a collector of John Deere tractors and was especially proud of the hole-in-one he had at the Fowler golf course.

Don and Norma, along with Bob, Donna and Elaina Mills, vacationed in Scotland sightseeing and searching for ancestry history.

Don is survived by his wife, Norma; daughters, Patty (Keith) Doak and Donna (Bob) Mills; grandchildren, Mike, Kyle and Brandon Doak, Tiffany (Clayton) Cash and T.J. (Amanda) Gottbehuet all of Fowler; brothers Eddie Bowie of Evanston, Wyoming and William Bowie of Lake George. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, too numerous to mention.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Edith Bowie, brother Jim Bowie and sister Sharon Paxton.

Eaton Family Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
