The stage at Rocky Ford Junior/Senior High School has been transformed for the upcoming play, “The Simple Truth.”

The light-hearted yet emotional play focuses on an aging golf pro (Dennis Golding) and his son (Kasey Coates) and daughter (Alexandra Chernobaeva) as they are contestants at America’s Talent Search. Here they meet the show host (Cassidy Litle), audience prompter (Norman Kincaide) and the three super-star judges (Carolyn Ehrlich, Zachary Pinatore, Glenn Parker). The competition also includes two young singers (Ashley Torrez and Teagan Summers) and talent contestant (James Thompson).

The golf pro’s daughter provides an emotional trip through the play as she copes with her feelings with her psychiatrist (Natalie Summers). The audience will be part of the play as they become the audience of America’s Talent Search. Providing a special song is ATS’s last year winner (Michael Young Franklin). Through faith, you may laugh, shed a tear, and rejoice in the powerful message presented in this story with remaining cast members Kristin Langston, Virgil Bragg, Kate Bragg, and Erik Golding.

Author (Dennis Golding) and Director (Douglas Golding) fulfill their promise of a little ending surprise twist for theater-goers. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and can be purchased at Rocky Ford Junior/Senior High School, The Coffea Shop (Rocky Ford), Fowler State Bank (Fowler), and The Lighthouse and The First Presbyterian Church (La Junta).
