Tri-County Family Care Center is seeking individuals interested in providing respite care services for children and adults. This person could relieve a parent that cares for a child with disabilities to leave for a short time period. They may need to run errands, go to the doctor, grocery store, or just take a break! Parents are encouraged to take a break, when possible, to relieve stress, thus avoiding child abuse or neglect. The respite care provider can be called upon to provide childcare if the child is ill and the parent needs to continue working. There, also, are caretakers of elderly individuals that may need a short reprieve. The respite care providers can be accessed by them, as well.

Individuals interested in becoming a respite care provider will fill out a survey listing their training, experience and certifications. Their interests will need to be identified for who they are willing to care for and in what geographic area. Are you willing to provide personal care, companionship, massage therapy, housekeeping, run errands, grocery shop, or other assistance?
