Rocky Ford is hosting a 2017 Women’s Wellness Day event Saturday, May 13.

Where: Library Park, 400 South 10th St., Rocky Ford

Rocky Ford is hosting a 2017 Women’s Wellness Day event. You are invited to participate, have a booth and come enjoy empowering women. Call Shana Santisteven at 383-4003 or Carolina at 254-5300 for more information. There will be a free barbecue catered by Dickey’s of La Junta. In order to enjoy the food you must participate in the 5K by walking, running, skipping, dancing - however you would like to complete it.

There are plenty of places that help is still needed and we would welcome the help!

Kristin Carpenter says this is a fun way to spend a Saturday with the family.

Preregister by May 1 at 5 p.m. at Otero County Health Department, 811 South 13th, Rocky Ford. First 200 get a participant goodie bag.

Participant Rules:


This is an untimed 5K FUN/WALK/RUN/HOP/SKIP/BIKE event.

Medals will be given to the first 200 finishers.

Must participate in the 5K in order to enjoy the free BBQ after the race, families and all ages welcome.

Color will be thrown at every kilometer. Colors are non-toxic, skin friendly and not harmful to the environment.

Participants will receive a free shirt, glasses and goodie bag.

Event will be held at Library Park in Rocky Ford: 400 S. 10th, May 13th. Late registrations 8 a.m.-8:45 with race start at 9 a.m.

Entertainment, vendors, educational booths in the park till 2:00 p.m.

Goodie bag pickup, May 12, 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Otero County Health Department: 811 South 13th St., Rocky Ford. Must pick up bag, all those not picked up will be given to the next participant.
