Co-valedictorians Emily Aragon, Teyah Schiffer and Jayde Hagerman quoted the motto for the class of 2017 in their commencement speeches, Aragon saying. "We are the ones you never expected," Schiffer saying, "We are the ones you never considered," and Hagerman, "We are the ones you'll never forget."

In her message to fellow graduates, Aragon said, "You may not think we are so different than any other graduating class. But what makes us special is that we know how to make peace with things that end and accept the new. I am blessed to have grown up with people who promote things that are important to them."

Schiffer followed, referencing several historical figures such as Einstein, Bill Gates, Walt Disney, Thomas Edison and Dr. Seuss, all of whom failed or were rejected at one or many points in their lives only to become figures who excelled in life. "This list suffered setbacks, but they continued to persevere and showed grit. They were overlooked, they were not considered." Schiffer quoted Pablo Picasso who said, "Anything you can imagine is real."

Hagerman was the last to speak, saying "I will never forget the things that I've learned. To my classmates, there are not enough hours in the day to say what you all mean to me, but thank you for making the last 13 years ones that I will never forget." Hagerman acknowledged her parents, sisters and the town of Fowler saying, "I'll never forget you."

Salutatorian Hanah Cesar recalled growing up with the graduating class saying, "Our class became the family that we always knew we were. We are diverse and that's why it took us so long to develop. Cesar willed each of her fellow classmates unique successes in their future endeavors and ended by saying, "To the Class of 2017, I will a successful life. Today is just a chapter in our lives."
