Key Committee Members, administration and members of the Communities That Care enjoyed a party at the Otero Junior College Banquet Room on Friday evening, in lieu of the regular monthly meeting. Members could bring guests to enjoy the companionship, food, fun and games. It was a chance to meet the Key Leader Board in a less formal setting.

Communities That Care is an organization funded through a grant from the State, administered by Otero and Crowley County Health Department. Its mission is to combat opioid addiction, dropping out of school and teen pregnancies with a positive program involving the youth themselves helping to work out the solutions. It meets monthly through the administration of Kristin Carpenter and her assistant, Dee Leyba, a member of the La Junta School Board.
