HIGHLANDS RANCH — Three members of the Colorado Speed track and field team competed at the USA Track and Feild Junior Olympic State Championship, which took place June 22-24 at Valor Christian High School's stadium.
Two members were event winners. Kassidy Lotrich won the 17-18-year-old women's 600-gram javelin with a toss of 28.91 meters or 94-10.
Miles Marshall won the 11-12 boys' pentathlon with 1,243 points. He also took fourth place in the 80-meter hurdles in 15.30 seconds.
Nya Marshall also competed, finishing 10th in the 13-14 girls' triple jump with a leap of 8.31 meters or 27-3 1/4. She was also 21st in the 200-meter dash in 32.91 seconds.
Lotrich and Miles Marshall both advance to the Region 10 championships, which will take place at Mesa Community College's John D. Riggs Stadium in Mesa, Arizona.
