ROCKY FORD — The Arkansas Valley Fair hosted its second annual youth rodeo this past Saturday and Sunday at the AVF rodeo grounds.

Two performers swept both of their divisions in the Saturday and Sunday All-Around standings. Kamrynn Patterson of Kim won the senior girls division and Miguel Vargas took the pee wee division.

Saturday

In winning the Saturday senior girls' All-Around, Patterson won pole bending in 23.031 seconds. She was second in goat tying in 12.54 and seventh in barrel racing in 20.936.

The other senior girls category winner was Kodey Hoss of Cheraw in goat tying in 7.48 and Dolly Diodosio of Fowler in barrel racing in 18.332. There were no qualifying times in breakaway roping.

The senior boys' Saturday All-Around champion was Jaylyn Hash of Lakin, Kansas. He was third in tie-down roping in 25.61. He and Bryson Carroll won dally ribbon roping in 17.34 and the same team finished second in senior team roping in 8.98 seconds.

Winning senior team roping were Cinch Bullock and Dakota Canfield in 8.50.

Creede Gauradamondo of Avondale won bareback riding with 57 points and Cisco Padilla won bull riding with 65 points. Brandt Walton of Trinidad won tie-down roping in 17.99 seconds. There were no qualified times in steer wrestling.

Gunner Hughes of Olney Springs won the junior boys' Saturday All-Around. He also won breakaway roping in 7.03 seconds and he was second in goat tying in 13.62.

Hughes and Javen Hall won junior team roping in 17.71 and Hughes and Jace Hall were second in dally ribbon roping in 33.78.

The other junior boys' winners were Matt Doherty in goat tying in 12.03 and Jaytyn Hash in flag racing in 8.14. There were no qualified times in chute dogging.

Ashton Elliot of Sugar City was Saturday's junior girl All-Around champion. She also won goat tying in 8.86, breakaway roping in 4.52 and barrel racing in 19.334. She was also fourth in pole bending in 26.005.

Winning junior girls' pole bending was Marlee Quarles in 21.982.

Waitley Sharon of Ordway and Delaney Bond of Rocky Ford won junior dally ribbon roping in 20.65.

In taking the pee wee All-Around, Vargas also won pole bending in 24.874 seconds and barrel racing in 19.79.

Winning the pee wee goat tying was Acoya Bartlett of Cheraw in 16.63.

Sunday

In Sunday's performance, Patterson won pole bending in 21.960 seconds. She was second in goat tying in 12.14, third in breakaway roping in 6.56 and sixth in barrel racing in 21.335.

Patterson and Canfield won dally ribbon roping in 11.94.

Also winning senior girls' events were Hoss in goat tying in 7.62 and Jaylynn Tortorelli of Trinidad in breakaway roping in 2.84 and barrel racing in 18.562.

There was a tie for Sunday's senior boys' All-Around championship in Canfield and Padilla.

Canfield was third in tie-down roping in 19.13. Padilla tied for first with Denton Dietrich of Cheraw in bull riding as both scored 59 points.

Padilla was tied for second place in two runs in senior team roping as both had times of 15.94. He was teamed with Guardamondo in his first run and with Brianna Denton of Rocky Ford in his second. Padilla and Denton were fifth in dally ribbon roping in 27.32.

Canfield and Patterson won dally ribbon roping in 11.94 and Canfield and Bullock were fourth in senior team roping.

The remaining senior boys' event winner was Jaylyn Hash in tie-down roping in 13.43. There were no winners in bull riding or steer wrestling.

Rowdy and Justin Norwood won senior team roping in 8.69.

Doherty was Sunday's junior boys' All-Around champion. He won the flag race in 8.207 and he was second in breakaway roping in 6.19 and third in goat tying in 13.56. Doherty and Jaytyn Hash were third in dally ribbon roping in 50 seconds.

Also winning junior boys' events were Crwoley McCuistion of Sugar City in breakaway roping in 5.12 and Waitley Sharon in goat tying in 16.68. There were no qualified times in chute dogging.

Jolie Bond of Rocky Ford won the junior girls' All-Around on Sunday. She was second in goat tying in 11.69, fourth in pole bending in 26.064 and she had a time of 19.601 in barrel racing. She and Hughes were second in junior team roping in 61.69 and Bond and Sage Bader of Kim were second in dally ribbon roping in 47.44.

Winning junior girls' events were Talara Nittler of Kim in goat tying in 11.46 and barrel racing in 18.056, and Solana Vargas in pole bending in 22.170.

McCuistion and Bader won junior team roping in 13.94 and Waitley Sharon and Delaney Bond won dally ribbon roping in 21.94.

In taking the pee wee division, Vargas also won pole bending in 21.651, the flag race in 9.445 and the flag race in 19.446. He was fourth in goat tying in 19.41.

Winning the pee wee goat tying was Bartlett in 18.60.

CPRA rodeo this week

The Arkansas Valley Fair will host its Colorado Professional Rodeo Association event this coming weekend.

The first session is Friday at 7 p.m. The slack will be on Saturday at 8 a.m. and the final performance is Saturday at 1 p.m.
