COLORADO CITY — Fowler High School's boys' golf team had the top two individual finishers and that led the Grizzlies to the Santa Fe League championship, which took place Thursday at Hollydot Golf Course.
Derrick Sharp was the individual medalist with an 83 and David Gage was second with an 87. The rest of the Fowler line-up had Hunter Mason 10th with a 98 and Christian Mullarkey 13th with a 102.
Rocky Ford High School finished second and the Meloneers were led by Ethan Jacob, who was fourth with a 90. Levi Collins was seventh with a 95 and Christian Valdez and Seth Havens both tied for eighth as both shot a 97.
Fowler had a team score of 370 and Rocky had a score of 379. Rye was third with 383 and Swallows Charter Academy was fourth with 400.
Fowler will be at the Trinidad Invitational on Tuesday. Both teams will be at the Pueblo County Invitational on Sept. 1 also at Hollydot.
