Last week the Fowler Grizzlies volleyball team was on the road on two nights, facing the Crowley County Chargers and the Las Animas Trojans. The Grizzlies came out ahead in both of the Santa Fe League matchups.

Tuesday night’s matchup against the Chargers was a battle from the first game. The Grizzlies dropped sets one and four to the Chargers but took sets two, three and five for the win 18-25, 25-15, 25-18, 19-25, 15-8. Senior Elizabeth Hagerman led the Grizzlies in kills and blocks.

Thursday night the Grizzlies were on the road again to Las Animas to face the Trojans. The Grizzlies came out ahead 3-1. Although losing momentum in set three, the Grizzlies battled back in set four to clench the win 25-18, 25-19, 18-25, 25-18.

“Last week’s game against Crowley to the game with Las Animas, we made a lot of improvements. We are improving every day,” said Senior Elizabeth Hagerman.

This week the Grizzlies host the Swallows Charter Academy Spartans on Monday and the Colorado Springs School Kodiaks on Thursday. JV is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. with Varsity beginning immediately after. There will be no C-team games this week.
