Placing first for the Grizzlies was Sharp with a 79 and shooting an 82 and coming in second was Gage. Adding to their team were fellow Grizzlies Christian Mularkey with an 87 and Steven Hildreth with a 114.
This week, the Grizzlies have two tournaments in preparation for regionals next Monday. “ I am really proud of how the season has gone so far and I am looking forward to playing at the regional tournament,” said Derrick Sharp.
A total of four high school boys' golf tournaments took place over the past week.
LAMAR — The La Junta High School boys' golf team finished third, Fowler was fourth and Rocky Ford was seventh at the Lamar Invitational, which took place last Thursday ay Spreading Antlers Golf Course.
Leading the Tigers was Cody Schrock, who took third place with a 79. Jay Paolucci tied for fifth with an 81, Noah Sedillo tied for 11th with an 86 and Chance Oquist tied for 25th with a 104.
The Grizzlies were led by Derrick Sharp, who tied for fifth with an 81. David Gage was seventh with an 82, Christian Mullarkey tied for 14th with an 88 and Joseph Aragon tied for 21st with a 98.
The Meloneers were led by Christian Valdez, who tied for 11th with an 86, followed by Ethan Jacob, who was 18th with a 92, Levi Collins, who was 20th with a 96, and Seth Havens, who was 28th with a 108.
Pueblo County won the team championship with 241, followed by Lamar with 245 and La Junta with 246. Fowler had a team score of 251 and Rocky Ford had 274.
Pueblo County's Brock Rodrigues was the medalist with a 73.

La Junta Invitational
La Junta had three of the top five individuals as it hosted its annual tournament Friday at the La Junta Municipal Golf Course.
Scoring was under Stableford rules.
Jay Paolucci and Cody Schrock tied for first place as both scored 33 points. However, Paolucci earned medalist honors on a scorecard playoff.
Noah Sedillo finished in fifth place with 26 and Chance Oquist tied for 11th with 14.
La Junta had 92 points and Rocky Ford was second with 45.
Levi Collins led the Meloneers as he took sixth place with 26 points. Ethan Jacob tied for seventh with 19, Seth Havens was 34th with one point and Cristian Valdez tied for 37th with minus-2 points.
Rye was third with 43 points and Fowler was fourth with 41.
David Gage was the Grizzlies' leader as he tied for seventh with 19 points. Derrick Sharp tied for 13th with 13 and Christian Mullarkey tied for 20th with nine. Joe Aragon did not record a score.
La Junta also entered at junior varsity team. Nathan Paolucci led the JV as he tied for 27th with five points. Nate Copley tied for 29th with four, Izaya Nunez was 33rd with two, Trey Pearce was 41st with minus-6 and Jake Martinez tied for 44th with minus-12.
Rocky Ford also sent a JV team and it was led by Damon Carpenter and Josh Johnson who both tied for 22nd with eight points. Martin Fernandez tied for 35th with minus-1.

Rocky Ford Invitational
ROCKY FORD — Fowler won the Rocky Ford Invitational, which occurred Saturday at the Rocky Ford Country Club.
The Grizzlies had three of the top four individuals. Derrick Sharp was second with a 79, David Gage was third with an 82 and Christian Mullarkey was fourth with an 87. Steven Hildreth tied for 35th with a 114.
Rocky Ford finished in fourth place and it was led by Cristian Valdez and Damon Carpenter who both tied for sixth place with a 91. Ethan Jacob tied for 10th with a 92 and Levi Collins was 25th with a 106.
The Meloneers also entered two subvarsity teams. On the B team, Josh Johnson tied for 13th with a 90, Martin Fernandez tied for 26th with a 107 and Blake Havens was 38th with a 119. On the C team, Clay Havens tied for 26th with a 107, Trent Tanabe tied for 31st with a 117 and Jacob Effird was 44th with a 125.
La Junta sent a junior varsity team and it was led by Nathan Paolucci, who was 21st with a 102. Nate Copley tied for 23rd with a 104, Izaya Nunez tied for 31st with a 112 and Trey Pearce was 37th with a 115.
Fowler had a team score of 248, followed by Lamar with 259, Alamosa with 272, Rocky Ford with 274, Swallows with 286 and Rye with 288.
Lamar's Jimmy Clark was the medalist with a one-over-par 73.

All-Santa Fe League
Fowler won the Santa Fe League championship. The Grizzlies had a total score of 784 after tournaments that took place at Fowler, Rye and Rocky Ford.
Rocky Ford was second with 855, Rye was third with 820 and Swallows was fourth with 871.
Fowler's Derrick Sharp was the individual champion with a three-tournament score of 238. Fowler's David Gage was second with 257, Rye's Zach Richardson was third with 273, Rocky Ford's Ethan Jacob was fourth with 282 and Swallows' Jarred Garrett was fifth with 289. All five were All-League players.
Tri-Peaks League Tournament No. 3
MONUMENT — La Junta High School took second place in the third and final Tri-Peaks League meet of the season Monday at the Country Club at Woodmoor.
Cody Schrock led the Tigers as he tied for fourth place with an 86. Jay Paolucci was 10th with an 89, Noah Sedillo was 20th with a 94 and Chance Oquist tied for 34th with a 103.
Lamar won the tournament with 260 and the Tigers were nine strokes behind. Buena Vista was third with 275 and St. Mary's was fourth with 277.
Trinidad's Lance Peters was the medalist with a 77.
