Jeff Dayton, Campbell's lead guitarist and right-hand man, carries on the tradition

A heartwarming evening of Glen Campbell’s biggest hits and the stories behind them, all delivered by Glen’s right-hand man and his band which had been hired by Glen Campbell after a chance meeting and jam session. For the next 15 years the Jeff Dayton band performed with Glen Campbell on worldwide tours, TV and record dates, celebrity events and many concerts.

While Dayton was Glen Campbell’s musical director, highlights included shows at the White House, NBC’s The Today Show and the Grand Ole Opry stage. Campbell and the Jeff Dayton band also played with Gene Autry, Willie Nelson, Bob Hope, Vince Gill and dozens more.

In 2002 Campbell opted for a smaller band and less touring and Dayton left to step up his writing and producing career, and relocated to Nashville. He remained in demand, however, performing with Kenny Chesney, Lee Greenwood, Dizzy Gillespie, The Judds, Merle Haggard and numerous others.

Jeff Dayton was born in Minneapolis. Growing up in a musical household, he developed an appreciation for folk, blues, classical, pop, rock and country music. He began playing guitar at the age of nine and soon added drums, banjo and piano. Dayton and his first band “The Emperors” performed on local TV when he was still in grade school. His musical education was at SW Minnesota State, University of Minnesota, Arizona State University and The Curtis Institute.
