Homecoming week for the Grizzlies volleyball team started off on Monday as they traveled to Colorado Springs to play the Fountain Valley Danes.

Homecoming week for the Grizzlies volleyball team started off on Monday as they traveled to Colorado Springs to play the Fountain Valley Danes. This game helped the Grizzlies start off their week with ease, as they won 3-0 over their opponent. Set scores were 25-20, 25-8, and 25-18. The Grizzlies were led by senior Elizabeth Hagerman with nine kills and 10 digs, sophomore Avery Bouldin with 11 digs and senior Lexi VanSickle with 18 assists.

As the Grizzlies continued on with their week, they struggled a little bit to get the win over the Swink Lions in their Homecoming game Thursday night. In this very exciting and intense game, the Grizzlies lost the first two sets and then fought to make their comeback with sets three and four. Unfortunately, in the end, the Swink Lions came out with the win in five sets. Set scores include 23-25, 19-25, 25-18, 25-20, and 12-15. The Grizzlies were led by senior Elizabeth Hagerman with 24 kills and 23 digs, sophomore Avery Bouldin with 20 digs, junior Emily Bell with 28 digs and senior Lexi VanSickle with 20 digs and 29 assists.

The Grizzlies' game against the Swink Lions was the last game of their 2017 season, where they had a record of 14-5 overall and were ranked 10th in the state for the 2A class.
