This month we had a successful after school program. The children learned about bears, raccoons and foxes. They got to draw with chalk pictures of the creatures and they wrote facts about them out in front of the library. They were then read books about each animal and were asked questions about them. Finally, they got to make raccoons, foxes and bears out of toilet paper tubes. The kids were very creative and got to take their creations home to show off to their loved ones.

Next week we will have our next program and the theme will be round objects. The program is for elementary age children and runs from around 3:30 to 5 p.m. It will be on Thursday, Nov. 2. The children will be making bouncy and stress balls to play with. Bring your kid in, or remind them to come here right after school.

We also got some new books in by such authors as John Sandford, Debbie Macomber, and Fern Michaels. We also have for kids the new book in the Dork Diaries series and a book called Girls Who Code. This book teaches young girls (but can be for boys too) how to write computer code. As we are going into the fall season, it’s the perfect time to come by the library to pick out a book to read.
