Sangre de Cristo Hospice & Palliative Care to host Holiday Grief and Loss Support Groups

PUEBLO – As the days get shorter and cooler, and as leaves turn color and begin to fall, those who have suffered a personal loss — loss of a loved one, loss of a job, a divorce, illness — often begin to dread the holiday season. Rather than times of family togetherness, sharing and thanksgiving, holidays can bring feelings of sadness, loss and emptiness and make that holiday cheer difficult to come by.

To support individuals throughout southern Colorado during the upcoming holiday season, Sangre de Cristo Hospice & Palliative Care will host a number of grief and loss holiday support groups beginning in November for both adults and children. The Clouds to Rainbows Holiday Support Group is designed for kids ages 6 to 13 and meets every Friday beginning Nov. 10 from 4 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. There are two Surviving the Holidays Support Groups to accommodate busy schedules that will begin meeting weekly on Tuesdays starting Nov. 7 from either 11 a.m. until noon or 4 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. All support groups meet at the Sangre de Cristo Hospice Administrative Building, 1207 Pueblo Blvd. Way.

Registration is required. For more information, contact Crystal Gerlock at 719-542-0032.
