FOWLER — The 2017 season came to a conclusion for the Fowler High School football team as it was defeated by top-ranked Sedgwick County 44-6 in the eight-man quarterfinals Saturday at Vibber Field.

The Grizzlies took the early lead with a touchdown, but the point-after was unsuccessful.

The Cougars tied the score later in the quarter and the score remained deadlocked at 6-6 at the end of the period.

Sedgwick County scored another touchdown in the second quarter to take a 12-6 lead at halftime.

The Cougars began to pull away in the second half as they scored 20 points in the third quarter to lead 32-6. They scored 12 more points in the fourth quarter.

Fowler finished the season with nine wins and two losses.
