The Otero Junior College Law Enforcement Training Academy will graduate 15 students on Wednesday, November 29 at 10 a.m. in the Student Center Banquet Room at OJC
The Otero Junior College Law Enforcement Training Academy will graduate 15 students on Wednesday, November 29 at 10 a.m. in the Student Center Banquet Room at OJC. This class will be the 40th class to graduate from the Law Academy since the Academy was established in 1999.
Miner Blackford, academy director, will begin the ceremony with opening remarks. Jim Rizzuto, president of Otero Junior College, will welcome the graduates and their guests. The student speakers for the graduation are Cameron Josh, Yuma; and Ryan Sandbeck, Trinidad. A former student of the Law Academy, Jeremy Leisure, will be the guest speaker. Leisure graduated in 2016 from the Law Academy, with the 37th class.

The OJC Law Enforcement Training Academy is an intensive 15-week, 40-semester-hour training course. The Academy is staffed by veteran certified peace officers and career professionals who teach the latest in law enforcement techniques using state-of-the-art equipment. The course-work offered by the Academy is continually upgraded each semester and is designed to prepare students to take the Colorado POST examination to become Colorado Certified Peace Officers.
