The Colorado Community College System (CCCS) has announced the new presidential search for Otero Junior College is now open. To ensure full consideration, application materials should be received no later than February 21, 2018. The position will remain open until filled. This is a confidential search process.

Candidates will begin the process by submitting a completed Candidate Summary sheet. Interested candidates will then complete a letter of application that succinctly addresses the opportunities and challenges identified in the Position Profile. The letter of application needs to demonstrate how the candidate’s experience and professional qualifications prepare them to serve the needs of Otero Junior College and should not exceed five pages. Finally, candidates should prepare a current resume that includes an email address and mobile phone number.
According to Carol Noll, human resources director at OJC, candidates must combine their candidate summary sheet, cover letter, and resume into a single Pdf file. Candidates should include eight references: three supervisors, two direct reports and three faculty members from current or former institutions.
Jim Rizzuto, who has served as president of Otero Junior College since 2001, announced his plans to retire on July 31, 2018. In an age where the average tenure for a college president is barely six years, Rizzuto has proudly served for 17 years. He also served as joint President for OJC and Lamar Community College from 2006 to 2008.
