Memorial Services for Robert McClain, known to most as Robbie will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2018 at the United Methodist Church in Las Animas, Colorado.
Robert Roy McClain was born on June 15, 1955 in Farmington, New Mexico to Robert George and Rose (Jesser) McClain. He passed away on January 16, 2018 in La Junta, Colorado at the age of 62.
Robbie managed the family owned grocery store, McClain Super in Rocky Ford, for many years. Over those many years he made many friends with the patrons. Robbie raised cattle, loved riding horses, and rarely passed up the chance to attend a rodeo. He was united in marriage to Cindy Brown on December 10, 1994 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Robbie is survived by his wife, Cindy McClain of Rocky Ford, Colorado; mother, Rose McClain of Rocky Ford; siblings, Karen (Gary) Hall of Las Animas, Colorado, John McClain; mother-in-law, Norma Conover of Rocky Ford, Colorado; brothers-in-law, Robert (Vicki) Brown of Loma, Colorado, Parker (Michelle) Brown of Palmdale, California; and Dean Brown. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews who adored him; best friends, Lyle and Kelly Myers of Rush, Colorado their children, Crystal (Josh) Bonner of Kerns, Texas, Connie (Josh) Crippen of Falcon, Colorado, and Royce (Jennifer) Myers of Danbury, Nebraska; their grandchildren, Rex and Acie Bonner, Wyatt and Marshall Crippen, and Zane Myers; as well as may other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert “Bob” McClain, grandparents John and Alice McClain, Philip and Christena Jesser. Plus a favorite nephew Wester.
