Rocky Ford High School remained at the top of the Class 2A team rankings as Tim Yount released his ninth On the Mat wrestling rankings today.

Fowler stayed at No. 5 and County Line is still 10th.

Following Rocky Ford are Cedaredge, Wray, Paonia, Fowler, Hotchkiss, John Mall, Soroco, Burlington and County Line.

Two Tri-Peaks League teams are in the Class 3A rankings. Lamar remained at No. 5 and Buena Vista stayed in the seventh position.

Alamosa is ranked first, followed by Valley, Eaton, Pagosa Springs, Lamar, Weld Central, Buena Vista, Centauri, Moffat County, Sheridan and Brush.

A total of 36 local individuals are also in the rankings. Those standings are as follows:

Class 3A

La Junta

La Junta High School has five ranked wrestlers in the Class 3A standings and it continues to be led by Isaiah Gamez, who is first at 113 pounds.

The remaining ranked Tigers are Noah Barrett, who is eighth at 132, Wyatt Buhr, who is eighth at 182, Nick Martinez, who is 10th at 285, and Mitchell Peabody, who is 10th at 195.

Class 2A

Rocky Ford

Rocky ford High School has 11 wrestlers in the standings with two of them at the top of their weight divisions in Greg Garcia (285) and Carlos Romo (145).

Also ranked for the Meloneers are Diego Reyes, who is second at 160, Dillon Jaramillo, who is third at 113, Joziah Maestas, who is fourth at 120, Michael Maldonado, who is fourth at 106, Santino Mendoza, who is fifth at 126, Jesse Tapia, who is sixth at 182, Simon Apodaca, who is 11th at 220, Isiah Garcia, who is 14th at 152, and Dylan Miell, who is 14th at 132.


Swink High School has four ranked competitors. The Lions in the rankings are Justin Tucker, who is fourth at 285, Michael Romero, who is seventh at 106, Kaleb Fisher, who is ninth at 145, and Matthew Mendoza, who is 11th at 126.


Fowler High School has seven grapplers in the standings including two who are leading their divisions in Seth McFall (106) and Dahlton McGhee (195).

Also ranked for the Grizzlies are Chantz Lange, who is fifth at 152, Tyson Martinez, who is fifth at 182, Tyler Mullins, who is sixth at 285, Dylan Palomino, who is 10th at 145, and Seth Damgaard, who is 13th at 170.

Crowley County

Crowley County High School has four ranked wrestlers. The ranked Chargers include Adam Schultz, who is fifth at 160, Jaden Harris, who is sixth at 138, Jared Bauer, who is 12th at 152, and Tanner Howells-Watkins, who is 20th at 132.

County Line

The County Line Rivals have five wrestlers in the rankings including Trevor Randel, who is second at 152, Ken Cox, who is fourth at 195, Jaime Ibarra, who is sixth at 170, Dawson Roesch, who is seventh at 182, and Jayce Bauer, who is ninth at 220.

Las Animas

Las Animas High School currently has no wrestlers in the rankings.
