PUEBLO WEST — The Fowler High School girls' golf team finished in fifth place at the Pueblo West Invitational, which took place Monday at Desert Hawk at Pueblo West.

Leading the Lady Grizzlies were Gabri Leone and Tatyana Bradshaw, who both tied for 16th place with a 108. Laney Nelson was 31st with a 117 and Laiken Griffy tied for 33rd with a 119.

La Junta entered only one golfer in Cassidy Jones, who tied for 21st with a 110.

Zoey Rodriguez of Pueblo South was the medalist with an eight-over-par 80.

Pueblo West won the team title with 372 — 20 strokes ahead of second place Pueblo South. Pueblo County was third with 411, Pueblo East was fourth with 443, and Fowler scored 452.

Rounding out the team scoring were Pueblo Central with 490 and Pueblo Centennial with 523.

La Junta, Alamosa and Trinidad did not record a team score.

La Junta and Fowler will both be at a tournament at Hollydot Golf Course on Thursday. For the Lady Tigers, it will be the first of three Tri-Peaks League meets this season.
