On Thursday, the Coronado High School girls’ track and field team won the championship at the 44th Annual Lady Tiger Relays, which took place at Tiger Stadium.
On Friday, it was Coronado boys’ team’s turn as it walked away with the 70th Annual Tiger Relays championship. It was the fourth straight meet championship for the Cougars and their ninth out of the last 10 years.
The Cougars had only two individual champions in Conor Strizich, who won the 1,600-meter run in 4:52.10, and Charges Broomfield, who took the shot out at 50-8.
Coronado had 14 additional individual placers and it placed in all four relays.
Crowley County was 10th and it had two individual placers.
The Chargers were led by Lane Walter, who won the discus with a throw of 174-3.
Tyler Schwartz placed in two events as he tied for fourth in the long jump at 19-5 and he was eighth in the triple jump at 35-5.
Crowley County placed in two relays. The Chargers were fourth in the 4x200 in 1:39.63 and eighth in the 4x400 in 4:18.47.
Fowler and Crowley County will be at the Springfield Longhorn Invitational on Saturday.
