What: YEP Youth Entrepreneurship Fair

When: 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9

Where: Otero Junior College - Student Center Ballroom

Who: Open to any student in the fifth to 12th grade from any of these counties - Baca, Bent, Cheyenne, Crowley, Kiowa, Kit Carson, Lincoln, Otero, and Prowers.

Aspiring youth entrepreneurs across Southeast Colorado are encouraged to develop business ideas for businesses or services of any kind or type that the student feels could work in the rural areas and small towns across Southeast Colorado.

There are cash prizes in each of the two divisions: middle school (grades five through eight) and high school (ninth and up).

Business ideas will be presented on three foot by four foot table top displays, which must be set up by 8:15 a.m. before the fair begins. Semi-finalists will be selected by the judges based on these displays.

The fair is organized by the Southeast Colorado Youth Engagement Project (YEP) and sponsored by Ogallala Commons and the Daniels Fund.
