The Class 2A District 6 baseball tournament will begin today as seventh-seeded Las Animas will play sixth-seeded John Mall in Walsenburg beginning at 4 p.m.

The winner of that game will play third-seeded Crowley County in the quarterfinals Tuesday at 4 p.m. in Ordway. The other quarterfinal game will have fifth-seeded Fowler playing fourth-seeded County Line in McClave also on Tuesday beginning at 4 p.m.

Top-seeded Rocky Ford and second-seeded Swink both drew byes into the semifinals.

The top four remaining teams will play in the final day of the tournament Saturday at Babcock Park in Rocky Ford.

The Fowler/County Line winner will play Rocky Ford in the first semifinal game at 9 a.m., while either Las Animas, John Mall or Crowley County will play Swink at 11:30 p.m.

The championship game is at 2 p.m.

The winner of the tournament will get an automatic berth in the Class 2A State Tournament, which runs May 18-19 and May 25-26 at the Runyon Sports Complex in Pueblo.
