COLORADO CITY — The Fowler and La Junta high school girls' golf teams competed at the Rye Invitational, which took place Friday at Hollydot Golf Course.
The Lady Grizzlies finished in eighth place with 322. Their score included Kaley Pieper tying for 18th with a 103, Laiken Griffy tying for 23rd with a 105, Shayna Ede tying for 37th with a 114, and Zoey Unrein placing 40th with a 115.
La Junta entered only two golfers and did not receive at team score. Nevaeh Fisher tied for 16th with a 102 and Cassidy Jones tied for 28th with a 107.
Florence's Elizabeth Mullet was the medalist with an 81.
Rye won the tournament with 285, followed by Alamosa with 292 and Monte Vista with 295. Pueblo East and Trinidad tied for fourth with a 303, and Pueblo County and Salida tied for sixth with 305.
La Junta, Fowler and Swink will next compete at the Class 3A Region 1 Tournament, which will take place Tuesday also at Hollydot.
