ROCKY FORD — The Rocky Ford High School softball team lost its first game at the Class 3A Region 6 Tournament Saturday at Babcock Park. However, the Lady Meloneers came back strong in the final game and that victory qualified them for the Class 3A State Tournament.

"At the end of the day, it's all about getting to state," said Rocky coach J.C. Carrica. "That's what the girls were able to do. What I was thrilled about was the way we hit the ball today. So even though we came up with a tough loss against Brush, which is a great team, we got some pretty good momentum even with that loss."
