The Otero Junior College rodeo team finished the fall part of the 2018-19 Central Rocky Mountain Region schedule earlier this month.

The Rattlers and Lady Rattlers competed in five rodeos spanning the last two months.

Chadron State Rodeo

CHADRON, Neb. — The fall rodeo season began at the Chadron State Rodeo, which took place Sept. 14-16.

Placing for the men's team were Tyler Beebe, who was seventh in saddle bronc riding with 67 points. Bryce Batterton was fifth in steer wrestling with a total combined time of 20 seconds even.

For the women's team, Dolly Diodosio was sixth in barrel racing in 35.51 seconds.

The men's team finished ninth with 70 points, and the women's team was also ninth with 60 points.

Sheridan Rodeo

SHERIDAN, Wyo. —OJC was next at the Sheridan Rodeo, which occurred Sept. 21-23.

Beebe was fifth in saddle bronc riding with 139 points. Ty Spickelmier was fourth in tie-down roping in 24.8 seconds.

Nobody on the women's team placed.

The Rattlers were eighth in the men's team standings with 165 points.

Central Wyoming Rodeo

RIVERTON, Wyo. — The next rodeo was the Central Wyoming Rodeo on Sept. 28-30.

Beebe was fourth in saddle bronc riding with 142 points.

No on the women's team placed.

OJC was ninth on the men's team standings with 90 points.

Lamar Rodeo

LAMAR — OJC's next action was at the Lamar Rodeo on Oct. 5-7.

Beebe was fourth in saddle bronc riding with 131 points.

For the OJC women, Diodosio was eighth in barrel racing in 36.55 seconds.

The men's team tied for ninth with 90 points and the women placed 10th with 90 points.

Laramie County Rodeo

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Otero finished the fall season at the Laramie County Rodeo on Oct. 12-14.

Josh Parker was fourth in saddle bronc riding with 72 points. Cordell Davenport placed seventh in steer wrestling in an even 10 seconds.

Nobody on the women's team placed.

OJC was 10th in the men's standings with 40 points.

Season standings

Beebe is fourth in the current saddle bronc riding with 275 points. Parker is 12th with 70 points. Spickelmeir is 12th in tie-down roping with 90 points.

Diodosio is 11th in barrel racing with 80 points.

The Rattlers are ninth in the men's team standings with 455 points, and the Lady Rattlers are 11th in the women's standings with 80 points.

The spring portion of the season will begin in March.
