As the 2009-2010 school year kicks off at Fowler School District R4J, two new faces will be joining the teaching staff.
Stephanie Martin comes to Fowler Elementary as a Title One teacher whose primary focus will be giving her students a solid foundation in writing. Martin, a graduate of University of Southern Colorado and University of Phoenix, has most recently worked in Pueblo District 60 where she was a fourth grade teacher.
Martin says she is looking forward to being a part of the Fowler School system and is excited about helping her students reach their educational goals while making learning fun.
Martin, and her husband Rob, have two daughters, Hannah and Claireanna. In her spare time she enjoys gardening, cooking and spending time with her family.
JJ Autry, a graduate of Lamar Community College and Western Governors University, joins Fowler Junior High and High School as a math and science teacher. Autry will once again serve as an assistant coach for the boys' high school basketball team. His goals for the year include increasing CSAP scores in science and helping the basketball team reach regional play offs again. He hopes students in his classes will achieve a deeper appreciation of science.
JJ's wife, Crystal, is also an employee of Fowler School District as an elementary teacher and assistant high school volleyball coach. The Autry's have two children, Joe Cash and Aspen Cheyenne. JJ's hobbies include basketball, rodeo and golf.
