Fowler Preschool is completing a very busy 2007-08 school year. In addition to building on their educational skills all year, children have also enjoyed many other fun endeavors. Spring activities included an Easter egg hunt March 13th at teacher Meranda Ourso’s home with eggs and candy provided by the Fowler Health Care residents. Children paraded the downtown business section handing out classroom created Easter cards in holiday hats they had designed with their parents. On April 15th the children traveled to Cheraw High School for a “Week of the Young Child” celebration with the Cheraw Preschool and Ordway’s Kid’s Campus preschoolers. The group enjoyed games, prizes, pizza and a magic show performed by Mr. E of Pueblo. April 29th children, parents and teachers ventured on their annual fun filled spring field trip making stops at Linette Griffy’s LNG Alpaca farm, Jerry Harris’ goat pens and Rick and Trish Leone’s Peakview Animal Clinic. The group then headed to the Pueblo City Park rides, lunch and playing in the park before returning to Fowler. The preschool year will conclude May 20th with games and a noon picnic in the park and an End of Year program that evening at the Fowler Theater. The children will perform songs and finger plays for their friends and families.

Preschool children this year are: Little Dipper class taught by Jerri Norton assisted by Shelly Miller - Alexis Armijo, Garrett Bradley, Nathan Bregar, Kaitlyn Campbell, Emily Flanscha, Jared Jackson, Collin Ormsbee, Jack Proetto, Jestine Romero and Tannice Wetzel; Little Dipper pre-k class taught by Sherry Harris and Meranda Ourso - Antonio Aragon, Braxton Bates, Jackson Bates, Joshua Daniels, Jacob Efird, Laiken Griffy, Liam Griffy, Lexie Hackworth, Val Leone, Shanae Major, Bryant Manchego, Jayden Osburne, Kaley Pieper, Shyanna Reeves, Rylee Smith and Molly Tate.

This year saw a transition with Fowler Day Care changing to Fowler Preschool. After 23 years providing child care, owner/director Sherry Harris chose to provide strictly preschool, turning the reins of providing childcare over to Lil Rascals Day Care owner/director Nicole Flanscha. Lil Rascals is located next to Fowler Preschool making the transition for children from one building to the other very easy for preschool and day care services.

Fowler Preschool is now conducting registration for the 2008-09 preschool year for the 3-4 year old class and the older pre-kindergarten class.

Fowler Preschool is a CPP (Colorado Preschool Program) provider. CPP is funded through the state of Colorado.

South Central BOCES will be conducting a Child Find Developmental Screening at Fowler Preschool this Friday, May 16th from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. for children ages birth to 5 years of age. Children are screened in all developmental areas. Should any development delay concern for your child occur during the screening, BOCES will assist in further screening and provide services at the preschool if required. No appointment is required for the screening. You may register for preschool that day as well or call Sherry at 263-4844 or 263-5534 for information or to register.
