Fowler resident Terry Gribble was present at the Fowler School Board meeting Monday.
Gribble expressed his desire to cooperate with the district on the drainage project for the athletic field. His only concern is flooding to his property, which is located north of the field.
Board member Jason Bitter explained that they had literally just received the final approved drainage plan from NorthStar Engineering and all concerns about drainage were addressed.
Gribble will allow an easement across his property to accommodate the drainage project.
Gribble stated that this is a one time only agreement and there will be no further projects modifying the easement.
Superintendent Steven Grasmick and Board President Suzanne Anarde both expressed their gratitude to Gribble and his wife for their willingness to allow the drainage to cross their property lines.
“We are so close to seeing this complete. The sod will be laid tomorrow, and the fence will be installed as well,” Grasmick said.
He expressed his deep felt thanks to Jason Bitter and Randy Corsentino for all of the work they have put into this project.
In other business, Amber Barrett was hired as the assistant volleyball coach. Kristi Hobby was approved as a volunteer volleyball coach and she will assist with the C team.
The board approved the Student Absences and Excuse Policy and a three-month leave of absence for board member Jerry Bonds.
Mike Thomas presented financial reports for the board to review and said, “Financially the district is doing as good as can be expected.”
