Fowler, Colo. -

Fowler School’s music program ended their year with a concert May 13th. Music Instructor, Penny Grasmick led the choir through an impressive selection of song before launching the evening’s performance of the three individual bands.

Starting off with the fifth graders who are finishing their first year in band it was exciting to hear the improvement they’ve made over the last few months.

The sixth grade band was next and treated the audience to the kind of performance that earned them an Excellent rating at the music festival in Lamar recently. Incidentally, they were the only sixth grade band at that competition.

Following the grade schools was the combined Jr. High and High School band. Grasmick’s dedication and the students’ hard work combine to create a school band with a very rare talent. It is truly a joy spend an evening listening to them.

To close the evening, and the year, Grasmick recognized several members of the band and choir for their accomplishments.

Most Improved Elementary – Bailey McMahan, Jackie Sallee
Outstanding Jr. High Band – Jenna Hardy, Tye Stephens
Most Improved Jr. High Band – Megan Hollenbeck
Outstanding High School Band – Brenna Chambers
Outstanding Percussion – Jordan Korbitz
Most Improved High School Band – Tyler Norris
John Philip Sousa Award – Kirsten Grasmick
