Manzanola Child Development Services Head Start will celebrate crazy hair day on Thursday in celebration of Week of the Young Child. Otero Junior College Child Development Services Early Head Start, Head Start, Migrant and Seasonal Head Start and Colorado Preschool program have been celebrating Week of the Young Child this week. It is a week dedicated to recognizing and honoring children with activities such as crazy hair day, pajama day and an art show. Teaching staff from the Olney Springs prison has come in once a day to read to the children.
Since 1965, Head Start has provided comprehensive early childhood services to low-income children and their families. These services are intended to prepare children top enter into Kindergarten and to improve the conditions necessary for their success in school and life. Head Start today provides these services to nearly one million children across the United States.
