Members of the Fowler Volunteer Fire Department report they have responded to numerous grass fires already this season. Assistant Chief, Clayton Cash, cautions people to be very careful when burning. Because of the dry, windy conditions in this area Red Flag warnings vary from day to day. Cash asks anyone burning to first call Rocky Ford dispatch at 254-3322 and check for restrictions. The Town of Fowler also issues burn permits within city limits for trash fires. Please contact town hall at 263-4461 for more information.
Also, on Monday, March 9, Fowler Volunteer Fire Department responded to a multiple vehicle accident west of town on the Oxford bridge. One victim was rescued from the bottom of the canal and transported to Parkview Hospital.
