Officer Gomez contacted a small, white pick-up in the 400 block of 7th Street after several residents complained about the vehicle racing down residential streets with a loud muffler.
After contacting the 20-year old driver, Brian Rollins of Olney Springs, officer Gomez arrested Mr. Rollins for suspicion of driving under the influence. Also in the vehicle were an 11-year old male, 20-year old Romero Dominguez and 19-year old Kenneth Heltibridle (Pearson).
Mr. Rollins apparently attempted to strangle himself in the back of the patrol car while being taken to Rocky Ford Police Department for a chemical test of his breath.
Mr. Rollins was transported to Arkansas Valley Regional Medical by center by ambulance for treatment. While at the hospital AVRMC staff refused to notify Fowler Police of Mr. Rollins release.
Mr. Rollins did escape custody and has been charged with D.U.I., contributing to the delinquency of a minor and child abuse. A warrant has been issued.
Mr. Rollins’ companion Mr. Dominguez was cited and released for minor in possession and consumption of ethyl alcohol.
Mr. Heltibridle was released without charges.

April 11 - Andrew Manzanares of Pueblo was arrested for indecent exposure at Loaf ‘n Jug and an outstanding felony warrant out of Pueblo - Officer Gomez.
April 12 - Charles Wayne Kennedy of Fowler was arrested for third degree assault domestic violence - Officer Lindholm
April 18 - Officer Gomez cited Jeremy McDonald and Sharada Lake of Fowler for disturbance of the peace at 401 W. Cranston
