Fowler First Baptist Church’s Backyard Mission was held this past weekend.
Over 55 volunteers from the community, joined forces with four youth organizations from Fowler; Fowler Christian Athletes (FCA) Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Future Farmers of America (FFA) and the First Baptist Church of Fowler Youth Group.
Members of several churches around town were also helpful with the project as well as the First Baptist Church of Colorado Springs.
Projects this year involved replacing three sidewalks, one of which was for Wynona Sims.
“This is just wonderful, it gets to where I need a lot of help, they even cleaned my backyard,” Sims said.
“Fowler FFA helped me set the forms for the sidewalks on Thursday morning,” Jay Smith, a volunteer, added.
Robert Charles was another resident who benefited from the project. Workers did some exterior trim work as well as electrical work inside his home.
“I think it’s wonderful, since I can’t do it myself.” Charles said.
Volunteers completed a total of 10 home repair projects at five residences and seven yard maintenance projects.
Although there were not as many nominations as in years past, it was still a mission that was successful and worthy of praise and thanks to the many that were involved.
