Crowley County Treasurer Lynne Bauer has announced that she is seeking re-election.
Bauer worked as deputy treasurer before a successful run for county treasurer in 1991.
Moving to Crowley County in 1979, Bauer considers Crowley County to be home. She also believes a commitment to Crowley County extends beyond the job duties of a treasurer. Bauer has served on Crowley County Fair Board, Crowley County Chamber of Commerce, Crowley County Salvation Army, Combined Library Board, Friends of the Library and is currently president of the Colorado County Treasurer’s Association Eastern Division.

Bauer feels she brings integrity and experience to the office of the county treasurer. The workload extends to the public trustee office as well, where releases of deeds of trust and foreclosure sales are handled. Bauer pushed for a computer system for both the assessor’s office and the treasurer’s office to handle the demands of the public and to handle the increasing workload due to legislative changes. Working closely with the assessor has assured continuity for the public, Bauer added.

“Our office goes beyond the call of duty to help our taxpayers with payment plans and accommodating after hour payments,” Bauer said. “No one is anxious to pay taxes, but we try to create a pleasant atmosphere for them.”

Bauer added, “I have been blessed to serve the Crowley County community as Crowley County Treasurer and Public Trustee. If reelected, I would be honored to serve the citizens of the community.”
