The Fowler Museum is now open four days a week, Wednesday through Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Edna Carroll, retired Fowler school teacher and long-time member of the Fowler Historical Society, has been hired by Seniors Inc. to keep the museum open these extra hours.
Seniors Inc. is a program available to all low-income seniors throughout Colorado. Its purpose is to help people maximize their personal independence.
According to Fowler Historical Society's co-president, Barbaralu Smith, Freda Proaps is taking part in this program as curator at Crowley County Heritage Center. Las Animas has six seniors hired by Seniors Inc., and Manzanola has two, one in city hall and the other in maintenance, she reports.
Fowler Museum has many outstanding displays and it is hoped that these extended hours will allow more visitors to see the ever-changing exhibits.
Fowler Museum is located at 114 Main Street. Mailing address is P.O. Box 381, Fowler, CO 81039 and the web address is http://www.fowlerheritage.com.
