Monday evening's meeting, March 8, of the Fowler School District Board of Directors opened with a presentation by Mitch Gyles, representative with Vibrant Solar. A proposed solar installation at the school was discussed and Gyles provided board members with potential cost savings.

Bids on the GOCO athletic field project were received just prior to Monday's meeting. Several questions were raised and it was decided a meeting with project engineer William Guman was in order before any bids are awarded.

Steven Grasmick, Superintendent, reported Black Hills Energy is donating $5000 (half the total amount) toward the cost of a new scoreboard for the athletic field. He also told the board elementary student, Ty Hershey, has qualified to compete in the upcoming State Geography Bee, and Isaac Sanchez is attending a National Youth Summit conference.

In the wake of recent bad weather, board members discussed the pros and cons of implementing a 2 hour start delay during inclement weather. It was decided to continue as in the past with no delay planned.

Before adjourning, the board retired to executive session to discuss negotiation strategy. Next meeting will be Monday, March 22 at 7 p.m.
